Yotel Times Square

"So you’re staying at Yotel Times Square, the high-tech haven right in the heart of the city that never sleeps. Of course, you’re planning to visit the iconic New York Public Library, but first I have a story to share that could very well belong in those very library archives.!"
"At the southwest corner of 40th and 5th, once stood a beautiful mansion, home to the infamous Wendel family—a name that echoes with mystery and scandal. Think Gilded Age opulence—but this mansion was less of a grand palace and more like a gilded cage. Welcome to the world of the Weird Wendels."
"John G Wendel II, the patriarch, controlled his six sisters with an iron fist, keeping them isolated and frozen in time. No electricity, no new clothes, and no chance of marriage—his obsession with preserving the family’s wealth knew no bounds." Passersby would crane their necks to try and get a peek at the eccentric family living behind closed doors.
Ironically, After all the brother’s paranoia about the inheritance, the family was left with no heirs. The mansion ended up being torn down, and all that remains today is a plaque as bizarre as the Wendels themselves.
Now let’s re-enter the modern era and take a stroll south on 5th Avenue, then west on 38th Street to Isla & Co. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after your adventure—whether you’re craving a cup of coffee or a delicious Aussie meal.
"Or why not treat yourself to an espresso martini flight—because unlike our friends the Wendels, New Yorkers love a little indulgence.
